Eagles - Hotal California

This is the Grand Daddy of all the Eagles Songs and very much a Classic. The Eagles tell this story well in this song.
The story goes something like this: This young guy (maybe with his girlfriend or wife with him, maybe not) is to tired to drive on, so he takes a break at the "HOTEL CALIFORNIA"! What a mistake!!
A stranger had warned him way down the road before he started out driving, not to stop at the Hotel California. But, who takes a stranger's advice? Hardly no one.
The Hotel is sure to be somewhere off of Interstate 8 in the Anza-Borrego Desert in the very southern California area close to Mexico Border.
Our tired driver is met at the door by a beautiful young Lady who lights up a set of candles on one stick. A night porter to take his luggage. The beautiful young Lady takes him to the check-in clerk. The Clerk hand him a key to a room. The sexy lady in a long blue velvet dress with the candles says "This way, follow me" and down a long hallway they go. As they are going down the hallway, he hears faint clear voices saying "Welcome to the Hotel California, Such a lovely place, Such a lovely face! Plenty of room at the Hotel California"!! What a nice surprise"!!
The next day our driver is refreshed and enjoying himself and the Captain bring the free wines and cheeses at the side of the pool. The beautiful young Lady invites him to the Master's Ball that takes place that evening. She explains to him as he drinks his wine, that the people who are all working there are there because of their own selfish desires and those same desires now have them trapped. She said she would talk about it more later. He would have plenty of time later and he would understand after the Feast in the Master's Grand BallRoom. At this point our driver is really wondering what she was talking about. But, he knew that she knew what she was talking about, because since had arrived at this Hotel Wonderland everything about it had been strange and magical.
Now thing really start to get weird when he get the Feast. There in the Biggest room he ever saw was a long table with the best foods anyone could imagine He was the last person to arrive. the door was shut behind him. The wine was served. As the people their were dishing out their food onto plates, he noticed only a handful of them were eating. The others were just drinking the wine.
(HERE IS WERE THE STORY GETS INTERESTING). NOTE: THERE ARE 2 VERSIONS TO THE REST OF THE STORY, SO YOU CAN CHOOSE THE ONE YOU LIKE.
1ST Version: They are all Vampires and start eating the guests that are at the Feast (guests are the main dinner course).
2nd version: They are all robots and again start killing all the guests at the feast.

After you decide which version you like, we pick up the story with our driver friend (after seeing one of the diner guest stab the Master many times without hurting him at all) runs for the door to get back to the lobby.
That is when the Clerk says "YOU CAN CHECK OUT ANY TIME YOU LIKE, BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE". he finally makes it to his car and drives away.
He thinks he is safe driving the road. After about a half hour of driving down the desert at night. He see a light up ahead, after driving over a small hill he see all lit up the sign in neon "HOTEL CALIFORNIA"! He has not gone anywhere with his driving. He is now doomed to the curse of desire at the "HOTEL CALIFORNIA"!
